I’m Anthony Qi — a research-driven investor and systems thinker with a background in fundamental equity analysis. I created Notes on the Margin to share essays, tools, and observations that live at the intersection of capital markets, virtual economies, and long-term strategic thinking.
I worked for four years at a long/short equity hedge fund in Dallas, Texas called Highside Global. Following this, I was an Executive Vice President and first employee at Canary Data. I left in May 2025 to recover and work on personal projects following an incident where I was falsely accused of a crime. I presented evidence in court, cleared my name, and since then have been working hard to rebuild and return to long/short investing.
I write about everything from RuneScape trading loops to capital allocation frameworks. Notes on the Margin is a place to explore the world and ideas through careful writing, structured projects, and a commitment to clarity over noise.
